Square Kicker 12" and this amp make a great pair. I have never had this amp (or the little Legacy) ever go into protection mode. YES, they get hot... comically hot... like what kind of egg do you want me to cook?.. hot... almost... but it keeps on kicking out bass. I am sold. It is a performer. And tough as nails....

As alot of you are finding out, alot of these amps get bad reviews.. I think in most cases their just hooking em up wrong.. This Legacy 2700 watt does what I need it too.. It does get pretty hot.. and will sometimes throw itself into protection.. If I turn the gain up past half way it goes into protection.. If I have the volume set too high with too much bass it goes into protection.. Mind you im kicking the Poop outta these 2 12s !! but at the proper setting this amp does what its made to do.. If your looking for ground shaking power.. Maybe not so much with this amp.. but if def quakes my 2 12s in the Merc and it sounds great as well.. For the money its a win win..
